Job Title: Kayako Developer (Node.js & JavaScript)

Location: Remote (USA & Canada)

Long Term Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Kayako Developer with strong skills in Node.js and JavaScript to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for customizing, integrating, and extending the Kayako helpdesk platform to meet our business needs. You'll work closely with our support, IT, and product teams to create seamless support workflows and rich customer experiences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Overall IT experience: 7-10+ Years.
  • 4+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with Kayako platform (customizations, API integration, or support automation).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and experience integrating with third-party tools.
  • Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, AJAX) to enhance Kayako interface.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and customer support workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Experience working with Git or other version control systems.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of Kayako On-Premise and Cloud versions and their differences.
  • Experience integrating Kayako with tools like Salesforce, Slack, or JIRA.
  • Familiarity with customer experience platforms or CRM software.
  • Exposure to DevOps tools or environments is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
  • Customize and extend Kayako platform using available APIs and developer tools.
  • Develop custom modules, widgets, or integrations within Kayako using JavaScript and Node.js.
  • Build and maintain API-based integrations between Kayako and other internal/external systems (CRM, ticketing, notification, etc.).
  • Enhance the UI/UX of the Kayako interface to meet user and business requirements.
  • Monitor performance, ensure platform stability, and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Maintain documentation of customization, code changes, and technical implementations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver enhancements.
  • Ensure secure and scalable code in all customization and development efforts.
