Role Summary

We are seeking an engaging remote History / World History tutor who can bring the past to life for students across middle and high school levels.

This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys storytelling, critical thinking, and helping students connect historical events to the modern world—while supporting a wide variety of learners—from gifted students to those needing intervention-level support.

You’ll provide personalized, one-on-one instruction, adapting lessons to meet each student’s academic needs, learning style, and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 online history and world history tutoring sessions
  • Teach key topics such as global civilizations, U.S. history, historical analysis, and writing support
  • Simplify complex historical concepts for beginner and intervention-level learners
  • Support advanced students with critical thinking, essays, DBQs, and test prep
  • Customize lesson plans based on student needs and curriculum
  • Track student progress and provide clear, actionable session feedback
  • Foster curiosity, discussion, and confidence in each session

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (History, Education, or related field preferred)
  • Experience teaching or tutoring history/world history (Middle–High School)
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of learners—from gifted to intervention-level
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills
  • Reliable internet connection and comfort with virtual teaching tools

Preferred:

  • Teaching credential or certification
  • Experience with essay writing, DBQs, AP World/APUSH, or test prep
  • Experience working with charter school or homeschool students

Schedule & Workload

  • Flexible scheduling
  • 2–20 hours per week
