UX Content Designer / UX Writer

<p><strong>Basic Purpose</strong></p><p>Shape product experiences by creating clear, useful, and meaningful content that helps users complete tasks effectively. Define the content vision and drive cohesive product narratives across multiple platforms and touchpoints. Manage UX writing workflows, maintain project timelines, and ensure timely deliverables for the design team. Work independently on moderately complex initiatives while contributing to the evolution of the UX messaging strategy. Recommend messaging solutions that enhance the user experience while aligning with brand tone and voice guidelines.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design, write, edit, test, and optimize content that improves product usability and helps members achieve their goals across digital experiences.</li><li>Create content for product flows, interface copy, emails, push notifications, educational materials, product names, navigation labels, terminology, taxonomies, and other digital experiences.</li><li>Develop and execute content strategies throughout the product development lifecycle to improve user experience and ensure messaging consistency.</li><li>Define the messaging vision for assigned products and ensure cohesive narratives across all digital touchpoints.</li><li>Apply storytelling and narrative techniques to enhance user experiences while maintaining the organization's brand voice and tone.</li><li>Create and maintain content standards, guidelines, and best practices for voice, tone, CTAs, headers, formatting, emojis, and other UX writing elements.</li><li>Identify opportunities to establish messaging conventions and improve content consistency.</li><li>Conduct content inventories and audits to identify gaps and recommend improvements that enhance customer experience and business outcomes.</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, UX Design, UX Research, Customer Experience, Legal, Engineering, Marketing Communications, and Product Marketing teams.</li><li>Advocate for UX content best practices within the Design organization.</li><li>Research and analyze messaging challenges and develop effective content solutions.</li><li>Create innovative messaging strategies that improve user engagement and product usability.</li><li>Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing priorities, timelines, and level of effort.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in <strong>English, Communications, Journalism</strong>, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.</li><li><strong>5+ years</strong> of experience in <strong>UX Content Design, UX Writing, or Content Strategy</strong>.</li><li>Strong project management experience, including managing project timelines, resources, deliverables, and cross-functional teams.</li><li>Experience leading, mentoring, and guiding team members.</li><li>Ability to clearly communicate design concepts and content strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.</li><li>Strong analytical, creative, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.</li><li>Advanced writing and editing skills.</li><li>Experience with user-centered design methodologies and UX best practices.</li><li>Working knowledge of:</li><li>HTML</li><li>XHTML</li><li>AJAX</li><li>JavaScript</li><li>CSS</li><li>Familiarity with web, mobile, and application design principles.</li><li>Understanding of content best practices for web and mobile experiences.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Master's degree in <strong>English, Communications, Journalism</strong>, or related field.</li><li>Experience within the <strong>Financial Services</strong> industry.</li><li>Human Factors Institute (HFI) Certified Analyst certification.</li></ul><p><strong>Key Skills</strong></p><ul><li>UX Writing</li><li>UX Content Design</li><li>Content Strategy</li><li>User Experience (UX)</li><li>Storytelling</li><li>Content Governance</li><li>Content Auditing</li><li>Voice & Tone Guidelines</li><li>User-Centered Design</li><li>Information Architecture</li><li>Cross-Functional Collaboration</li><li>Project Management</li><li>Editing & Proofreading</li><li>HTML/CSS/JavaScript (Working Knowledge)</li><li>Mobile & Web Content Design</li><li>Design Systems</li><li>Content Standards & Best Practices</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p>
