Our faculty have served and worked in more than 60 countries and bring practical insights into the classroom from cultures and languages around the world.</span></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Overview</strong></p><p>The Director of Business Administration is responsible for contributing to the overall success and sustainability of DIU through effective stewardship of resources, accurate reporting, policy creation and creating a business strategy. The position involves overseeing and managing various aspects of the University’s business operations that primarily include the departments for Finance, Human Resources, and Business Administration.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>Activities</strong></p><p>· <strong>Financial Management</strong>: </p><p>o Direct staff involved in financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring financial performance</p><p>o Maintain yearly schedule of accounts payable (e.g., THECB surety bond, annual dues to SACSCOC, etc.)</p><p>o Ensure proper and optimized use of the university’s finance software. </p><p>o Participate in the Financial Aid committee by overseeing the use of financial resources in the scholarship process, providing budgets, reporting, and fiscal management. </p><p>o Work with the Provost to lead the University budgeting process.</p><p>· <strong>Policy Development</strong>: Develop policies and procedures that align with departmental goals and best practices. </p><p>· <strong>Risk Management</strong>: Identify and manage potential risks to the University, including financial, operational, and strategic risks. Developing strategies to mitigate these risks is also part of the role.</p><p>· <strong>Human Resources: </strong>Provide senior-level leadership to the department of Human Resources, making improvements to policies and procedures and providing guidance on legal matters.
